BACKGROUND

1956 - Pedro Useche was born in Venezuela. He graduated in architecture at the Universidad Central de Venezuela - UCV.

1990 - In this year he began his work at the Museu da Casa Brasileira, with an honorable mention for the chair Mulher.

1992 - Presented his artworks at the Institute of Architects of Brazil upon invitation of architect Carlos Bratke.

1995 - Participated in the five collective exhibits at Brasil Faz Design, in the years 95/96/98/00 and in 2004 at Brazil/Milan.

1996 - The chair Grillo received honorable mention at the X Prize of the Museu da Casa Brasileira.

1998 - The magazine rack Eixo 7 participated in the Design Biennale of Saint-Etienne, France later he won the 1st prize in the XII Design Award of the Museu da Casa Brasileira (Award Joaquim Tenreiro for residential furniture).

2000 - Received the 1st Prize in the first contest Brasil Faz Design, in the sustainable management category, with the chair 20R.

2001 - The seat 3L won the National Award Abimóvel for Furniture Design in the category "living furniture".

- The chair Pacman and the magazine rack Havaianas were part of the exhibition of the 15th Design Award of the Museu da Casa Brasileira.

- The chair Pacman and the seat Flexus, took part of the design exhibition "Singular and Plural ...almost ...last 50 years of Brazilian design" at the opening of Instituto Tomie Ohtake.

2002 - The small armchair 13 Costelas took part in the exhibition Brasil Faz Design - event "Manifestazione Fuori Salone" at the Brazil/Italy Institute (IBRIT).

2003 - He installed the exhibition of the Useche Aço Couro (Steel Leather) Furniture line and a retrospective at the Escola Panamericana de Artes, invited by director Alex Lipszyc.

2004 - Participated in the Brasil Faz Design Award with the chair Flexus and took part on the 43rd Edition of the International Furniture Exhibition in Milan.

- Simultaneously exposed the Flexus line on the certified products fair at the Collective Exhibition of Certified Design.

- Also participated with the seat Flexus in the UD Household Appliances Fair and in the Ecodesign Award 2004 held by FIESP/CIESP and won a prize as Finalist in Competitiveness in Design and Ecological Principles - 2003/2004.

- Gave classes in graduate course for Interior Design at SENAC - elective disciplines, teaching the curricular component Experimental Laboratory.

- Participated as a speaker to the topic "Design and Architecture" at the opening of the Cultural Hall in Ribeirão Preto.

- Released the Line R (laths) at Useche Furniture. This line came up as a challenge of designing a chair, exploiting the strength of timber with a minimum volume of material.

2005 - Gave classes in graduate course at SENAC and participated in the V CONAD with the presentation "20 years in São Paulo - Architecture and Design". In this year he was selected to join the 6th International Architecture Biennale in São Paulo, with a residential project.

2006/2007/2008 - He ministered the Course Master of Design in Furniture at Escola Panamericana de Arte e Design.

2008 - Conducted the lecture "24 years of São Paulo" on June 12 at the Space for Contemporary Culture Escola São Paulo. On June 19, took part in the event JF Mostra Design 2008 with the lecture "Design Paths - from handicrafts to architecture" an invitation from University UFJF/CTU, in the city of Juiz de Fora / MG.

- He prepared an exhibition with works of students for the post-graduation course in which he was professor at the Escola Panamericana, those works were exposed on the school premises in August / September.

- Participated in the event Brasil Casa Design in Buenos Aires on 2, 3 and 4th September, with the chair 20R and the magazine rack Eixo 7, invited by Ivan Rezende Architecture.

- Participated in the 2nd Brazilian Design Biennial at the National Museum - Brasília / DF, from 08/10 to 05/11 with the armchair Tensor and the long bench Tensor, invitated by the curator Fabio Magalhaes.

- Participated in the exhibition Vertentes (Spillways) - Architecture and Design, Contemporary Brazilian Indoors organized by FAAP - Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado at MAB - Brazilian Art Museum, at the Foreign Ministry Palace - Brasília/DF, from 05/11 to 07/12 with the project of his residence and the magazine rack Eixo 7.

2010 - Participated in the exhibition Design & Nature at Art Museum Riberão Preto (MARP) from 05/02 to 14/03, with the piece Árvore Generosa.

2011 - Pedro Useche was invited to develop the architectural design of the new headquarters of Project Dança Vida (Dance Life), in Ribeirão Preto.
 
2012 - He created the luminaire Tarcila to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Week of Modern Art 22 at the invitation of the journal Bamboo for your 1 year anniversary edition. The piece was also exposed in the gallery Emma Thomas.
 
- Participated in the inaugural event Design Week that took place in São Paulo this year. Pedro Useche was invited to do a workshop at Escola Panamericana, where he set up with students several armchairs made ​​of PET bottles.
 
- Useche won the Planeta Casa Prize in the category "decoration products" with benches and stools line Tak.
